Magical Lab

My Process -
I started by making a modular scene to block out the area, and after getting my shapes the way I want, I then combined the different walls to allow for fewer meshes to be imported into UE5. To create my ambiance, I use a mixture of point lights, fog, rect lights, directional light, and a skylight for my HDRI. The fog gives it a mystical feel with the point lights being where the lightbulbs are, the rect lights give a moonlight glow around the glass, with the directional light making strong shadows. Using Maya, I then make a variety of bottles and books and use an atlas texture for the books, which are combined with the surfaces to minimize meshes. I also experimented with Niagria with the particles, which makes it a more magical environment.

Textures are made in Substance Painter, and some textures were taken from PolyHaven and AmbientCG.
